“Vanity sizing” for womens clothing…
Over on Dave Berry’s blog is a link to an article about a strange trend in how women’s clothing is labelled.

I own an iPod. Not because I’m an Apple fan, but because the iPod works very well (the UI is good) and their music service fits the way I like to buy and manage my music. One thing that I thought was kind of neat about the iPod was the huge variety of third party accessories available- car kits, chargers, external speakers, you name it.
I was lying half-unconscious on the couch tonight and ended up watching some programs on Discovery channel. One was about strange things removed from humans (E.G.: the cop who had a 6′ long section of a mobile home stuck in his chest), then there was a show with the provocative title “The Man With Exploding Arms“.
A man in Oregon apparently had a bit of a headache last year. When surgeons at the emergency ward checked him out, they found 12 nails embedded in his skull.
There are times here in Kelly’s World when I post not just daily, but several times a day. This is usually followed by periods of time during which I’m basically silent- sometimes two or three days, occasionally a week or two.
Apparently its cool to “hook up” with other poeple online these days. Services like MySpace, Orkut, Friendster, and LinkedIn abound.
Apparently some folks taking a sleep aid named Ambien are experiencing episodes of sleep eating. They wake up to find their kitchen in disarray, crumbs in their bed, and a full feeling in their stomach.
Apparently someone at …Coke thinks all of us sophisticated urban folks want to mix our Starbucks with some cola. Off the top of my head, I can’t see why.
I was reading a post over on Scobleizer about how the “A list” bloggers are getting worn out. Its a telling statement about what has been going on with blogs recently when you realize he’s talking about the bloggers being tired of the never-ending flood of people/products/companies asking to be featured in a blog entry.
I mentioned in one of my gallery photo entries that I sometimes take pictures of ships so I can research them later on. Actually, this is something I can’t really call a “passion” or a “hobby”: I’ve checked into ship backgrounds a couple of times, and found it kind of interesting.
The first time I did this, I didn’t have a photo to work from. My wife and I were staying downtown at the Fairmont Waterfront one night as a special treat. Right outside the front door of the hotel is the Canada Place cruise terminal, and docked next to it was an unusual looking ship with what looked to me to be some sort of robotic submarine on its deck. The ship also had a Christmas tree on its deck, and that also intrigued me. I tried to memorize its name…Maersk something. Maybe Maersk Defender?
How does a fragmented name turn into real information on the ship? Read on…
