I have had a rough couple of weeks at work. I won’t go into the details other than to say “security reviewer”, which should give some sense of how little fun I’ve been having.
I dragged my carcass into the office for the day’s session with the Spanish Inquisition (you don’t want to call in sick when these guys are on the prowl) and did my best to maintain enough focus to answer the questions I was faced with. I was out the door and on my way home before 10:00 am. Which is a good thing, because the sinus congestion and fever were really just waiting to kick in by then.
I’ll get some rest when the week is over. Naturally, this weekend is when I was planning on starting my home office remodeling work. Even more typical: I had actually booked this week off before the security review schedule was announced, so I’ve delayed my vacation time to accommodate stressful work which does nothing to further my *real* work, such stress likely contributing to me becoming ill and disrupting my plans for my rescheduled vacation days. I couldn’t have planned any better for failure even if I’d tried.
Me too. 🙁
Been fighting a chest cold that seems to be lingering on… just wish the couch would loosen up so I could get rid of some of the crap in my lungs and breathe properly again. This seems to be the multi week variety, where if you just sit and read or watch TV you feel moderately human, just worn out. But talk, move around, do physical work ( like shoveling snow in the cold! ) and you end up flat on your back
I’m sorry to hear you have a cold as well, Chris.
I took today off work, and more or less spent the entire day sleeping and drinking tea. I don’t think this accomplished much of anything, but at least I’m not much worse than I was when the day started.
Why is it that, when I’m sick, the cats seem to want to shed their fur on my nose and make me sneeze that much more often? I swear it is like a game for a couple of them. “Hey look, I can make the human explode! Neat, huh? … Let me try!”
